Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
Great at the beginning
This worked really well on my mare's sweet-itch at the start. Unfortunately she or the midges got used to it and it is no longer as effective. This seems to happen with all sweet-itch treatments that I have tried so I keep changing.

Yes, it can also be used as insect repellent, but as horses have very sensitive eyes we would not recommend using it in the eye area. A fly veil or mask might be a safer option: https://www.equusvitalis.com/accessories-for-the-horse-stable/fly-masks-veils.
